CLIMB A MOUNTAIN ANYWHERE IN AUSTRALIA

18/5/2015

I climbed Kincumba Mountain, located on the Central Coast (New South Wales, Australia). Although not an overly tall mountain, the trek leading up to the climb was certainly mammoth.  My (very fit) 71 year old uncle was my guide and together we set off on a 33km walk which covered:
  • Erina to West Gosford
  • West Gosford to Woy Woy
  • Woy Woy to Davistown (by ferry)
  • Davistown to Kincumber
  • Kincumba Mountain Reserve to Erina
The very long walk was accomplished at a good pace, but during the initial incline up the mountain, I found myself quite out of breath and exhausted.  The hike took seven hours and I intend to do it all over again in years to come.
